How long do I need therapy for once I start sessions?

This answer is highly relative to each individual. However, a standard amount of time for therapy is six months to one year. Many clients find that they stay in therapy longer than expected once they find the right fit. The consistency of emotional support is a powerful tool for managing life stressors. It is common to think of therapy now as a basic form of self-care, like exercise, as opposed to something short-term. That being said, we are flexible and will work within the bounds of what feels right for you.

Can I come in bi-weekly or monthly instead of committing to weekly sessions?

It is highly recommended that you commit to weekly therapy sessions, especially at the beginning of your journey.  We believe that the therapeutic alliance is most important towards healing, and the most effective way to build a healthy attachment is through consistent meetings.

What happens if insurance does not cover my sessions?

Depending on whether you have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement through your insurance company.  We would be happy to provide you with a superbill at the end of each month, which is needed to complete this process.  We charge $175 for weekly 45-minute sessions without insurance and are open to sliding scale fees if necessary.
